I have worked in the social care sector for the past thirty years, initially working for the Youth Service and Probation Services before moving into the homelessness field. I have managed a range of supported housing and hostel provision specialising in drug and alcohol use, mental ill-health, and personality disorder.
In 2006 I became Business Development Manager establishing a progressive and ambitious growth strategy and then Head of Business Development, incorporating Communications and Fundraising into the Business Development function. I have served as a trustee for two charitable organisations.
I believe in the power of people – the vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals who use our services to regain stability and independence and the compassionate and skilled staff that support them. I am a student of Leadership philosophy and encourage all individuals to make their vision a reality. In my spare time, I am a keen cyclist and volunteer at a community cycling project.
