I started my career as an auditor at Deloitte, moving into advisory services for top tier and mid-sized retail banks, building societies and regulators. After the global financial crisis, I specialised in planning for severe financial stress or the failure of banks (known as recovery and resolution, respectively), including completing an 18-month secondment to the Bank of England where I engaged in active contingency planning. I subsequently spent over 7 years at Morgan Stanley, latterly leading the Firm's European recovery and resolution activities. I have advised banking clients in the UK, Europe and globally, and have a wealth of experience in strategic, operational and financial cross-organisational planning.
I'm a northerner (I grew up in south Manchester) who has spent my career to date in London, but I have recently relocated up to Lancaster with my family.
